Fashionista’s and Charity connoisseurs got together at the Midland Hotel this weekend to support one of Manchester’s finest institutions, the Royal Exchange Theatre.

With a catwalk show from Amanda Wakeley, who was on hand to give a sneak peak at her Spring/Summer ’11 collection, there was also a Charity Auction and various other fundraising events taking place throughout the evening.

All eyes were on the runway show, which was dominated by African influences in the way of bold accessories and various sandy hues against stunning blue tones, all put together in luxurious fabrics with strong jewellery to create a strong yet feminine silhouette.

As always, Wakely exceeded expectations with her stunning evening wear, a range of exquisite ball gowns continuing with the Sahara trend matched with jewelled cuffs and studded neckwear.

Ever ready for an auction, the Manchester crowd clocked up some impressive bidding for charity, with one lucky audience member winning the accolade of being immortalised in Lee Child’s next novel, another winning the opportunity to be Stage Manager at the theatre, as well as the prize of the night, the opportunity to be dressed by Amanda Wakeley herself going for well above its £3k estimate. Guest danced the night away at the event, ensuring all in attendance left with lighter pockets but having had a great time.
